Our History

My name is Leslie and I started this blog mainly to help me stay sane while I wait for the last step of our adoption before traveling - the referral. My husband James and I are adopting a baby from China, to be named Mira Lin. I have to confess that my patience at this point is very small so I created this blog for my own therapy. Please feel free to comment on my lunacy. James and I have been married for almost 9 wonderful years. We have 2 great kids from James' first marriage named Adam and Natalie. Adam is 25 and has special needs. He lives with us. Natalie is 22 and lives about 2 miles from us with her 4 year old daughter Kayla. Yes, I became a "Nana" when I was 30 years old! Four years ago I couldn't believe I had someone calling me Nana but now I wouldn't care if she called me Grandmaw or even "Hey You." As if our home life was not chaotic enough, James and I wanted a child created by us. Alas, that was not to be so we decided to adopt. James travels to China several times a year so that was our first choice. The process has been long and stressful at times but I KNOW Mira will be worth it. As soon as I figure out how to post pictures, I will start putting photos of our family and Mira's nursery. I don't know if I am that smart so if anyone can help, please feel free to comment on my stupidity. I have a digital camera and a docking station, if that helps!
