Wait For Mira Lin

This blog was created to help keep me sane while I await the adoption of my daughter, Mira Lin. I also hope family and friends will come check the progress of our family!

Mira Update

I am sorry I have taken so long to update the pics. My digital camera and docking station are on the way back to Best Buy to be exchanged, thank God. I think about posting all the time but there seems to be a shortage of hours in a day. I wonder how that happened. Onto the news of Mira.

Mira received her US certificate of citizenship about 3 weeks ago along with a letter from President Bush telling her to be a good little citizen. James couldn't get in the car fast enough to get to the Social Security office. Mira is now the proud owner of a social security card. I know that may seem trivial to some but it is a huge deal to us just to see her little name on the card, "Mira Lin Fogle."

Mira went from standing on her own to walking across the room in what seemed like minutes but was actually several weeks. She took her first step to me about a month ago. Of course, I was holding Zwieback toast in my mouth to persuade her to come to me, but who cares? You should have seen the look on her face when she did it though. She grinned like a Cheshire cat! Then she would take a couple of steps and plop down on her padded butt, then look at us to make sure we saw what she did. Again, she grinned like a Cheshire cat! Fast forward to now and she is walking across whole rooms before she plops down and grins. Most of the time she still looks like a drunken sailor but who cares - it is darn cute! She loves to walk. It seems sometimes that she has no purpose to where she is walking, she is just ecstatic to be able to walk. Thank you baby gate!

Let's talk about Thanksgiving briefly. I don't think Mira will ever eat baby food again. She has eaten turkey, dressing, rice and gravy, green beans, sweet potato souffle, pumpkin pie, sugar cookies, and who knows what else. She actually screamed at me when I didn't feed her fast enough. I can just see me shoving Gerber turkey and rice in her face and her throwing it at me laughing. I can't say as I blame her though.

As you can see, our lives have changed drastically in 2 1/2 months and so has Mira's. I think we all had many things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!
